Bishop Paul has kindly agreed to come to the parish to bless the new Stained-Glass window in the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Sunday 11th October, at the 10am Mass at Corpus Christi. Please put the date in your diary.
Birthday of Our Lady.
Tuesday 8th September is the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, there will be an additional evening Mass at Corpus Christi at 7.30pm. Please try to come along. The morning Mass will be at St Justus at 10am as usual.
The celebration of Mary’s birth reaches back to the earliest centuries of Christianity. Historical records show that this feast was already being observed in the Eastern Church by the 5th century, with the Western Church embracing this devotion in the following centuries.
The enduring nature of this celebration speaks to the deep reverence Christians have always held for Mary’s role in the mystery of the Incarnation.
While the Gospels do not provide details about Mary’s birth, sacred tradition has preserved the beautiful account of her parents, Saints Joachim and Anne. Fr Philip

CORPUS CHRISTI JAZZ NIGHT Join us for a special evening of live jazz music at Fisher Hall on Saturday 26th September, from 7:15pm to 10pm. Come along and enjoy an evening of live music in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with a licensed bar available throughout the evening. Cash and card payments are accepted. We will also be selling soft drinks. Guests are welcome to bring along their own table nibbles to enjoy during the evening. Please note that no outside drinks are permitted.
